About Us
We are Photoshop Philadelphia, an official Adobe User Group for the City of Philadelphia and surrounding areas. Photoshop Philadelphia is a User Group for Photographers and Designers of all types to get together and share ideas, network, and learn! The basic idea behind this group is simply to have a nice group of dedicated Photographers and Designers to keep up on the latest software, hardware, technologies, and techniques used by fellow Photoshoppers. We also aim to bring a quality training & social experience to all Photoshop users beginner to advanced, newbie to seasoned pro. It is 100% free to join this group and you just show up whenever you can. Hope you will join us!
If you live in or around the Philadelphia area and are a Photographer, Web Designer, Graphic Designer, or Photoshop User of any kind there will be something for you in this group. We gather once a month and cover Photoshop news, we have live training from both local and national Photoshop gurus, we also have a comfortable, easy-to-fit-in environment sure to be friendly toward any creative personality. The Photoshop group was started in late 2009 to provide a friendly and local social group where members can share ideas, projects, and anything related to Photoshop. The group has grown quickly and as the group grows larger and larger we will be able to offer better and better meetings as well as all kinds of great contests, prizes, training, and even job opportunities.
Manager: Nathaniel Dodson
Nathaniel is a young and energetic designer, photographer, and developer. He has been working in with Photoshop since about 2000, but first experienced Photshop in 1997 when he found Photoshop 4.0 on his parents computer, he has been teaching Photoshop since early 2006. He has worked with all kinds of people and over 10,000,000 people since
2006 have viewed his online training material which is available for free at his website www.tutvid.com. His teaching style, energetic attitude, and willingness to share knowledge are all sure hits and his work in both the design and development fields bring a unique aspect to how he works and maybe change the way you work. He currently runs his training business, speaks at live training events, and runs both a web design and photography business.
Co-Manager: Tony Profeta
Tony is a UX and Intereaction Design specialist and also works as a professor at Philadelphia University. Focused in the design and implementation of successful user centric experiences for a wide array of end media, including kiosk, handheld devices, web, video, print as well as product prototypes and simulations. Seeking to create coherent and usable applications that bridge the mechanics of an application with end user tasks, Tony Profeta has engrossed himself in the personal study of HCI and Human Factors making him highly desirable to both hi-design boutiques and Fortune 100 teams alike. He is currently teaching at Philadelphia University as well as running his own business PDA Media.
